Atlanta Magazine Dream Home 2008

It’s that time of year again getting ready for the Atlanta Magazine Dream Home 2008!

We are fortunate to have great clients that have in turn have taken care of us this year. We were approached by one of our interior design clients, Black Sheep Interiors, to be a part of the Dream Home sponsored by Atlanta Magazine. Since Shane has been doing interior design work he has a reputation of putting so many thoughts and details into his interior design projects that we were more than ecstatic to help him with all of his artwork and mirror needs.

This house is incredible and it uses the latest green technology and state of the art electronics throughout the house. You can see some of the pictures that were of the house under construction at www.atlantamagazinedreamhome.com and there you can see some of the exacting details that builder Jim Bankes has used to pull off this Tuscan themed dream home located at The River Club in Suwanee, Ga. I had the privilege of meeting Jim personally and he is a builder that knows how to bring to life the finer details of a home. Since my grandfathers were home builders, I have learned to appreciate and notice the details in finer homes such as “Villa Bella Vista.”

Not only is the Dream Home a great way for us to showcase our art and framing designs but it helps many other companies get their name out to the trade and to the public. In the dream home you will see many of our images that come from some of our publishers. In some cases we are using original oils that lend themselves to the perfect ambiance of the room environment. We have developed a process that allows us to create “canvas looking” textures that replicate the strokes of old world master painters. No, these are not canvas transfers in case you are wondering. It is a hand embellishment process that takes time to create but allows us the flexibility to use published images. See some of these publishers at www.arteffectsframing.com/publishers to find great looking art for your next project.

Release me!

We have been working hard in the last few months to put together some new products for our online offering. Most of our customers, who favor the interior design industry, really like to see the "new stuff". So we try to maintain perpetual bliss in our showroom and we plan to carry new releases about once a month. These new release items will also be available on our product catalog at taylorchaseartworks.com and they will be available for viewing but in order to buy you must sign up for an online account, have a current business license and Georgia tax exemption on file with us. Bookmark the site if you would be interested in getting updates and info on new releases.

Most of the designers that we have been dealing with really favor the "vanilla look" which really is just simplified matting and transitional frames. This seems to work well for many living spaces. Since the majority of new spaces are concentrating more on wall color these days, the finished frame products need to be "vanilla" so that they don't compete with the room color.

Since art and framing seems to be the last things that designers do in a room we strive to make our products relevant to almost any space. Certainly art needs to have a specific look, especially if it high end art, but mainly the art should be a compliment to the rest of the room.

One of the more sophisticated looks that a product can have is a "boxed corner". Seen here in this set of four castle series, this boxed corner gives an elaborate sense of style and ties the castle look into the piece. Yes that is a real wood fillet in the mat and yes that is a series of intricate cuts to achieve that look but it is worth that to make the piece look unified.

We hope to have a regular schedule of new releases so that our products will always stay current and innovative. Check back soon at arteffectsframing.com
